Just bought a 2020 AMG GT from a dealer. Sweet car, and I love it. How does one tell if the car might be a C, S, or R variant. (The dealer maintains that my car is none of that.)
I haven't really seen the A designation on the GT, so not entirely sure where it comes from. I've seen some refer to a GTA, but that's not an official model. The letter A is the body style designation for convertibles together with the chassis number, but the GT roadster is the R190, whereas convertibles such as the C Class convertible are referred to by the letter A such as A205. C is the body style designation for a coupe, so C190 or C205, and S is for the wagons such as S213 for the E Class wagon, but the wagons are also referred to by the letter T for some reason. If anything, "A" might be used internally to designate the base model for the GT.

(I'm coming from Bimmers, Jags, and Porsches.) Now, what is the most efficient way to stop or pause playing media when you're in a hurry!
Right, muting and/or pausing the current audio source is done by pressing down on the volume knob. Either the one on the steering wheel or the one in the center console.
Another Newbie question: What is the most-preferred aftermarket remote start product? I was shocked to learn that Mercedes Me Connect does not offer that capability for my car. It will roll the windows up and down, but that's about it!

You're welcome, I mean I believe in great products are worth sharing, since I read numerous positive experience with your systems by other forum members from Eco-off to remote starters, I thought I would mention you.
When starting to drive my AMG GT today, I couldn'g get it to move. The D and R readouts reflected my gear selections, but the car wouldn't budge until I gave it a nearly-full throttle punch, and it jerked forward and was then drivable. What's going on here?

Had you washed it, and put it up in the garage right after? I would have that when putting the car straight into the garage, after a wash, with the steel brakes.
Was it accompanied by the sound of something breaking free? Then as said above, it was your brake pads that seized to the rotors. A common issue if you park it with wet brakes.
Thanks guys. There was, at the time, a "breaking free" sound, and I'm much relieved to learn it's not really a tranny problem! So, it's a feature, not a bug!
Yep, I've barely driven my car in the rain, but I don't remember the parking brake stuck issue after that. But I get it the next day every time I wash my car.

While you are driving in the rain, the brakes periodically apply slight pressure to wipe the rotors and keep them dry. You can avoid the issue after washing the car by going for a quick drive and use the brakes to dry the rotors and pads.
