I must be missing something. Can someone please splain to me why so many of you are saying this vehicle will be fast in all caps? The 63 engine is going to be putting out the same horsepower as a GTR but the vehicle is going to weigh around 800 lb more. Yes, the 0 to 60 speed will be comparable because of the all-wheel drive, but after that, and in corners, that 800 lb will dramatically change the nature of the beast. I won't be getting one because I have multiple other vehicles with rear seats.

Thought it is a new shade, any chance we can find out the colour names and colour codes, or not yet? Will be interesting that AMG doesn't launch a new colour with the new cars, kind of like how smartphone manufacturers does it, new colour or at least a different shade of the same colour launched last year, that type of thing.

This car is more BMW M8 than Porsche 911. I do like the looks of the car (and wide hips) but even with some suspension magic I can't imagine it getting anywhere near the AMG GTR Nurburgring track time...

If the C 63 S E Performance's weight around the corners is any indication (I mean, I get it, still heavier than this car by about 300 pounds more than the new AMG GT?), any additional weight (in this case,800 lbs over outgoing AMG GT) will not go well in those twisties.

Here is some real world data to take a look at. I think that most of us will agree that the GT63 should out perform the SL63 on the race track.
As a part of the Car and Driver Lightning Lap event, they were able to pull a 2:52.6 out of the SL63. Not quite as quick as the 2016 GTS that turned in a 2:51.0 but quicker than both the SLS and C63 Black Series.
AMG has proven to be wizards at hiding the feel of weight in the car but you can't defy the laws of physics.
We will see once people get a chance to drive them. It is amazing what AWD, Rear Wheel Steering, Big Brakes and Adaptive Suspension can do to hide the weight for short periods of time.
If AMG "want's" it be be quicker, they know what the benchmarks are, I am sure they can beat them.
Successful performance brands rarely step back, once we see some real data, we will know if AMG has or not.
Just my .02

I think the new GT63 is designed for high levels of usability and practicality. It will perform well but AMG has not designed this car to be a track weapon. There isn't enough money in it and to some extend, the old AMG GT has given the brand already real track credibility. They can live off of that for a while...
