2018 GTC Roadster-Any reasons not to buy?
Have the itch to trade in my 09 911 Turbo Cab for something newer and while not a huge MB fan, the AMG GT intrigues me. Looking at a low mileage CPO car.
Any reasons I should hesitate? Reliability or known issues that would suggest going to a 2019 or 20 model year?
Thanks in advance.

I had a 2018 GT coupe. I now have a 2020 GT roadster. The controls on the 2018 are much better and I wish Mercedes had not changed them. If a good 2018 is available, buy it!

I went from a 991.1 Turbo S to my '19 GTC Coupe. Totally different beasts but I'm really enjoying my AMG. I was never a huge fan of Mercedes either and overall, I still prefer Porsche, but I do love this car and plan to hold onto it for a while. It has more character than a Porsche.
As to the 19 vs 20 debate...after reading many comments from posters here before buying, it seemed most did prefer the older interior and felt it would age better overall. I think I prefer the buttons over the mini-screens as well. The exhaust tips on the 20+ would have been nice, along with the updated taillights though.

Sold 991 GT3 for a 2019 GT Coupe. No regrets! GT3 is simply raw and extremely well balanced. GT is a balance of luxury and performance for daily driving. Looks wise, the back end of the GT is very 911 and the front is Viper-esque. I also preferred the 19 vs 20. The 2019 is more analog.
Good luck with your hunt.

2018 AMG GTC Roadster cc brakes & carbon ext pkg!
I bought my '18 just over a year ago and I'm still as enthralled as I was when I first picked it up from L.A. & drove up to the S.F. Bay. It had an CPO extended warranty, which was reassuring. No problems!
I prefer the updated steering wheel, but was unable to get it to work for me (CELs & horn blaring). I'll try getting a professional install, otherwise very happy with interior & exterior. I also prefer the analog controls (came out of a C7 ZR1), very classic & appealing. A true "roadster" with excellent stock exhaust sound. Could I use an extra HP/TQ boost? Always!
I love the Roadster (reminiscent of my 427 LS7 convertible), very cozy!

Absolutely pleased with my 2019 roadster. Potential downsides compared to a 911: (1) The cabin is more snug; (2) much less storage space vs the frunk and rear seat areas; (3) it takes a while to get used to the long front bonnet and sitting at the rear wheels; (4) the GTC front end is low enough that a front end lifter is highly recommended. I installed a KW unit and use almost every time I drive. (my PCar has a factory lift).
Having raised those points, the GTC is more visceral, more luxurious and more unique.

Well, pulled the trigger on a 2018 GTC roadster yesterday. Got a killer deal on a 23k mile matt silver car about to head from a non MB dealer to auction. Bought a 60 month, 30k mile Fidelity warranty, and 200 miles and 24 hrs later, I'm pretty stoked. This car is special and unlike anything on the road. Incredible presence and a big fat ***. And after reading how bloated the 2024 AMG GT and SL's are, these may become collectable someday.

I don't particularly have an interest in the drive unit wheel, but I will go to the updated version like yours! You have a very nice set up with the Alcantara & red stitching. You'll have thousands of fun miles in that Roadster (true to it's name)! Cheers!

Bought my 18 GT C Roadster new after driving a 2016 GT S for a couple of years. I love driving the car, carbon ceramic brakes, high end burmeister. No regrets great upgrade fro my GT S
