Parking Lock Malfunction

Thanks for any help in advance. My 2018 GT C Roadster is intermittently spinning off a Parking Lock malfunction code. The dealer can see the fault logged but has been unable to duplicate. They reluctant to investigate further under warranty saying it would require opening the transmission at significant cost.

Has anyone run into this issue before and any advice on how to get the dealer to do additional trouble shooting.

thanks

I’m hoping this might be the issue as it’s simple and no cost to resolve: Do you have the code number? If not, is the issue that the parking brake appears to remain on? Does this happen after you wash the car? Our GT’s rear brakes adhere to the rotors after washing the car. The solution is to drive the car after washing or go through the procedure to release the parking brake every time you wash the car.

Thanks for replying. The service manager said that it’s not related to the parking brake but to a fault within the transmission that locks the transmission while it’s in part. I don’t have the actual code. Thanks again
