brake bleed/ rear pad change quesiton

For bleeding the brakes, is it necessary to activate the ABS/traction control module to cycle the existing brake fluid? Also, what is the procedure to change the rear brake pads? What needs to be done to disable the electronic parking brake?

I don't think you need to do anything with the ABS when flushing the brake fluid.

Here is the info from MB:

Here is a link on how to release the rear brake pads.
There are couple of points missing in this video:
1. To initiate the pad release, before you start, the driver's door has to be closed.
2. Once you release the rear pads, you can turn off the car. No need to leave it in ON position. When done replacing the pads, just put back the ignition to position 2 and press OK to exit the Replace Brake Pads mode.

There are many YouTube videos showing how to release and replace the rear brake pads.

In 2019 and earlier models, the above video doesn't apply as the buttons are different.
1 You have to put the key into service position1.
2 Put the car into the trip mode using the left steering wheel buttons.
3 Then press both phone buttons (dial and hang up) and the OK button on the wheel (3 button combo). This will bring up the menu where you can choose the brake pad replace option
4 Disengage the parking braking like the in the vid
5 Enable the brake service mode
6 remove the key to work on the car.

Its just there... part of scrolling through the settings. Interestingly enough, a friend that owns a 2018 recently asked me the same question as his doesn't show up. I wonder if the tech @dealer turned something on and left it in!
