Aspherical mirror?
I have a full set on my Macan and had one for the driver's side mirror on my previous C63S. Do you know if: the rear view mirrors are the same size as the C63S? ...do you know if anyone sells aspheric mirrors specificlly for the C-190? I can't find anyone after two days looking. Thanks in advance.

No, they are not. They are the same as the previous SL and I believe SLK. I wasn’t able to find any in the US (yes, even eBay) so picked them up in Europe. If you want send me a DM and I’ll try to find part numbers.

Deepest apologies to everyone. I got my Macan mixed up with my Benz. I do have aspheric mirrors on the Macan. But you’re right. I purchased a set from eBay but they were incorrect and returned quickly. I also have not found any for the Benz. Again, I apologize.

SOB! Great news!!!! Truly. Please stay in touch because I'm very interested in finding the correct set. BTW, the guy that sold me the incorrect ones immediately refunded everything I paid. Tax included. In that regard, I tip my hat. Let us know.

too many...
So these give a wide view on the outer ~20% of the mirror? That would be wonderful as I struggle to find a comfortable mirror position in this car. Mirrors are just to far back/close to driver to get a good angle.

The exterior mirrors of the 190 GT series are identical to the series.
C/R 197 (SLS)

That's a fact. Ergo, these mirror glasses should also fit. But that hasn't been personally tested.
Look for these glasses too. They should fit.

Never found aspherical mirrors particularly useful. I follow the SAE recommendation for adjusting my mirrors. By eliminating overlap between the rear view and side view mirrors it eliminates any blind spot. The side view mirrors will be adjusted outward to give you a wide view and the rear view mirror covers everything in between.

I understood what you are saying. I agree. No issue there. The difference between your recommended writings is that aspheric mirrors allow you to have an even wider view. Example: three lane highway. Four cars. Two in the left lane. None in the middle. Two in the right lane. You are the second car in the right lane. You go to pass into the middle lane. What you will not see is the second car in the left lane. He’s decided to pass the car in front of him. With aspheric mirrors you will see him two lanes over. Not all of him. But enough to him start to make his move

I had to read this a couple of times to understand the scenario. I have to pay attention next time, but I'm pretty sure I see both lanes with my current mirror setup in my C63S Coupe. I do find that on some cars I can't adjust the side mirrors outward far enough, so I don't get the optimal view. I don't have that issue in my C63S, but I've had it in various rental cars from different brands. Even in some recent MBs they didn't go out as far as I wanted them.

If I remember this correctly, it is a matter of DoT regulations. Before the introduction of the blind spot warning light, the solution, in Europe, was to alter the outer 15-20% of the mirror to a convex shape. This increased the field of vision helping with the blind spot. Making the whole mirror convex results in an alteration of the objects reflected, leading to an incorrect estimation of the distance to said objects. That's why only 15% was convex, attract driver's attention to a car in the blind spot followed by a correct evaluation of distance and speed when that car is in the flat area of the mirror.
Like many other silly DoT rules (just to be different than the rest of the world), they rejected the solution opting for a flat mirror on the driver side (we don't need that, we have wider roads). Feeling guilty, they made the passenger mirror slightly convex and made the inscription "OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR" mandatory (apparently our lanes on the right are narrower than the lanes on the left). I have the blind spot warning LED on my EQB and my daughter's GLC. I don't like them, they get confused many times. I changed my mirrors to European style on my old W211, R230 and now C190. You just have to wait until an European seller posts them on eBay. Sometimes it's worth trying on eBay.de.
