Minimum CCB Pad Thickness 2018 GTR

I am taking my 2018 AMG GTR to the track this weekend. I understand there is a rule of thumb about replacing the pads when they are down to 1/2 or 1/3 of the original thickness. A couple of questions:
1. What is the original thickness of the pads on CCBs?
2. What is the recommended minimum pad thickness to replace to maximize rotor longevity (1/2, 1/3 of original)?
3. What is the latest part number for pads front and rear? Hard to use any MB parts supplier website as they dont distinguish between CCB and steels pads.

Thanks!

Here is a link to the Pagid RSC1 rear ceramic brake pad for the 2017- AMG GTR. You can also find the corresponding front RSC1 on the site also:

https://www.pagidracing.com/en/produ...hape-8246.html

The front RSC1 has a pad thickness of 18mm, and the rear of 18.8mm. These ‘should’ be the exact same thickness as the OEM pads.

I would never allow the pads to get lower than 1/3rd of the original thickness, or you could risk too much heat getting into the rotor; (increasing oxidation of the rotor), +/- having the backing plate rivets destroy the rotor if a pad wore completely.

The RSC1s are great track pads that are also street and rotor friendly.

Answer to #3:
Fronts: 0004203402
Rears: 0004203502
stock pads are $700 for complete set
Pagid RSC1s are $1200 for complete set

My first and only track experience with stock pads was excellent even in 100F+ weather on a brake-intensive track (with Ansix cooling ducts F&R)
Anybody use titanium spacers?

OEM Front pads are Brembo and the rear are Pagid iirc

I used both the OEM and RSC1s on track multiple times, and frankly can highly recommend the Pagid. However, I didn’t have brake cooling ducts on the car; hence YMMV.

Ok, things got a little more interesting for me for my pads for the 2018 GTR with CCBs...

I ordered the stock pads from a parts supplier in AZ under $700 for the complete set shipped to me in NC.

Their part selection tool suggested that fronts were MB PN 0004203402. The Mercedes box it came in had a MB PN A0004205604 and the pads them selves have a MB PN A1904212201 (which I cannot find anywhere)
Front pad original thickness (just the pads) is 10mm. Replacement thickness should be around 4mm. My fronts are currently at 9mm

Same tool suggested that rears were MB PN 0004203502. The Mercedes box it came in had a MB PN A0004204602 and the pads themselves have an MB PN A1904231600.
Rear pad original thickness 11.5mm. Replacement thickness target 4.5mm. My rears are currently at 7mm.

So I have the parts, will hold on to them until I get closer to the thickness but hope they are the correct parts!

The OEM lads are definitely marked Brembo front and Pagid rear. I must say I can not remember the rear pad being that shape, or that small(?), but I would well be wrong.

Go to the actual Pagid website and find their replacement rear CCB pad; that way you can at least verify the dimensions of the OEM pad you’ve been sent.
