Decrease Oil Level

I normally drive the car as a daily driver in comfort, but recently I began going to S+ and manual shifting. After maybe 15 minutes of vigorous driving (for me), the warning came on. WTF? I turned it off, and it didn't return, but I wonder if my oil started to foam. Has anyone else experienced this situation?
The car has about 4500 miles on it. My last service was in July.

The service manager at my dealership says they normally fill only to the halfway mark specifically to prevent this issue and the resulting customer returns (and loss of confidence). From what I've seen online, I suspect my fill-level vs overfill message experience is common.

Btw slight off topic, how are the canyon roads these days in Malibu post franklin fire?

I attempted to forge my glove to my hand whilst checking the oil. Stupidly had the hood open at the equilibrium point where it could go up or down and when I tried to remove the dip stick it went down trapping both my hands. Yelled for help for 15 minutes and eventually a lady drove by my open garage and lifted the hood. Bear in mind i am in my EWC (electric wheelchair)
Any way, I had added a quart of oil when the display told me to do it. Made a mess of it and probably only got 2/3rds of it in. After driving it for awhile the display says to reduce the amount of oil! When I manually check it the stick shows it is not overfilled.
I'm convinced that these conflicting messages are just guidelines.

The wound developed a big thick scab that eventually fell off. Pretty much healed now.

I've been driving these roads every Sunday for the last 2+ months and haven't encountered any closures.

Thanks, it's just at the itchy stage.
