I'll watch that Florida car on BaT. But it's a 2021 with a lot of options including stealth. (I like a little bling.)
As for the offer to borrow the GT coupe, been there and done that. (2018 brilliant blue GT.) I like the roadsters, and my skin is in great shape (for a geezer). At this point I plan to take the Lucid Air GT to Monterey, or if I receive the Lucid Gravity GT in time, to take that.
(My original plan was to have the antique and the Mercedes trucked up together, fly to Monterey, and drive the GT in Pebble Beach and Carmel and then drive it home.)
As for the wife, I have that covered. But thanks for thinking of me.

Bish - the Lucid Air GT is probably the best automobile I've ever owned. I've had a shipload of cars, starting in 1961. I started getting really nice cars while I was finishing law school. My first was a new 1971 280SL. Then numerous BMWs (including a 3.0 CS I bought new and kept for 30 years), and many AMG and M cars. My last 3 EVs before the Lucid were a BMW i8, an Audi etron SUV and the Audi etron GT. After driving the Lucid the Audi GT felt like a toy car and I got rid of it.
I am going to get a Lucid Gravity and get rid of my Ford F-150.
A lot of people are worried about Lucid long term. I think it makes it, as it is backed by the Saudi Arabia sovereign wealth fund. But if it doesn't its technology is so advanced that a legacy automaker will probably buy the company and be required to honor the warranties. Aston Martin inked a $750m deal last year for Lucid's motors and batteries.
My 5200 lb Lucid goes 0-60 in 3 seconds flat. And it is dead quiet.

My insurance company paid me what is probably an appropriate amount for the actual cash value of the GT because of its low mileage, but I still can't find a replacement.
I was originally found 100% at fault, but I appealed the decision, with an explanation, and my insurance company just reversed the decision and found me 0% at fault.
While insurance companies should do the right thing, many don't. Mine did, and I think it needs to be credited for that. It is an excellent company and if anyone wants the name, PM me. (It is not one of the big 7.) The company insures my fleet except for the Silver Ghost (which Grundy insures for $950k).
As for the Lucids, the Sapphire has been called the greatest car of all time by, I believe, The WSJ. The Air GT is pretty damn good, too. The sales people have told me that the SUV, while a bit slower 0-60 at 3.5 seconds, handles like more of a sports car than the slightly shorter GT. We shall see.

While I believed my insurance company acted reasonably in adjusting my claim for the total loss, I have been unable to find a replacement car for anywhere near the amount I received. We're about $15k off. The key factor in my car's value is that it had only 4700 miles on it after 5 years.
So, I continue to look for a replacement car. But I am very discouraged.

You can get a 2018 AMG GTR for ~$115k or a 2020 AMG GTR for ~$140k. Just fork out the $15k difference and consider it a trade upgrade from a GT to a GTR.
Sport Cars are meant to be driven, so I'm not sure why such a concern over a few thousand miles. As long as it's under 30k, you should be fine.

Thanks, Jerry. I am going to follow it, but it's a 2019. OTOH it has the analog rather than the digital displays, which I liked better.

Scott, great result, but what mechanism did you use to? “appeal” the decision and get it reversed completely?

I wrote a letter explaining the circumstances. It was a very narrow mountain road with a cliff to my right.

The first car has had two prior owners and has more than 3 times the mileage of my car. It's not comparable, although the price is low. It may be low for other reasons. Before the rock, my car was in perfect condition. Inside and out. It still looks great since all the damage is hidden in the undercarriage.
I wouldn't be leary of an AMG GT from the south because these cars rarely are taken out in rainy weather, especially one with 2300 miles. What colors are definite no-go's for you, and what's your max price and mileage? Would you consider a car from an online auction site?

Scott, as you know sometimes these cars end up finding you…

I don't want an auction car. The provenance can be unknown and at auction you buy "as is" with no representations. I prefer an ultra low mileage one-owner car. That's what I had.

According to CarFax that 2021 with low miles appears to have been stolen and recovered. Who knows what was done with the car when it was in the hands of the thief/thieves.
That one is sadly a no.

What happened in the accident? Anything we can learn from the situation? I drive the canyons fast sometimes and worry about some type of nuance with my GTC might occur without me being aware.

The most important thing to me was to stay on the road and to keep the car from tipping over. As the rock traversed the undercarriage, the car tipped and shuddered quite a bit, which both surprised and worried me. But it was over in probably a second.
