As for the offer to borrow the GT coupe, been there and done that. (2018 brilliant blue GT.) I like the roadsters, and my skin is in great shape (for a geezer). At this point I plan to take the Lucid Air GT to Monterey, or if I receive the Lucid Gravity GT in time, to take that.
(My original plan was to have the antique and the Mercedes trucked up together, fly to Monterey, and drive the GT in Pebble Beach and Carmel and then drive it home.)
As for the wife, I have that covered. But thanks for thinking of me.

I am going to get a Lucid Gravity and get rid of my Ford F-150.
A lot of people are worried about Lucid long term. I think it makes it, as it is backed by the Saudi Arabia sovereign wealth fund. But if it doesn't its technology is so advanced that a legacy automaker will probably buy the company and be required to honor the warranties. Aston Martin inked a $750m deal last year for Lucid's motors and batteries.
My 5200 lb Lucid goes 0-60 in 3 seconds flat. And it is dead quiet.

I was originally found 100% at fault, but I appealed the decision, with an explanation, and my insurance company just reversed the decision and found me 0% at fault.
While insurance companies should do the right thing, many don't. Mine did, and I think it needs to be credited for that. It is an excellent company and if anyone wants the name, PM me. (It is not one of the big 7.) The company insures my fleet except for the Silver Ghost (which Grundy insures for $950k).
As for the Lucids, the Sapphire has been called the greatest car of all time by, I believe, The WSJ. The Air GT is pretty damn good, too. The sales people have told me that the SUV, while a bit slower 0-60 at 3.5 seconds, handles like more of a sports car than the slightly shorter GT. We shall see.

So, I continue to look for a replacement car. But I am very discouraged.
Sport Cars are meant to be driven, so I'm not sure why such a concern over a few thousand miles. As long as it's under 30k, you should be fine.

Scott:
This one just came up on BAT.

Scott, great result, but what mechanism did you use to? “appeal” the decision and get it reversed completely?

The first car has had two prior owners and has more than 3 times the mileage of my car. It's not comparable, although the price is low. It may be low for other reasons. Before the rock, my car was in perfect condition. Inside and out. It still looks great since all the damage is hidden in the undercarriage.
Scott, as you know sometimes these cars end up finding you…

That one is sadly a no.

What happened in the accident? Anything we can learn from the situation? I drive the canyons fast sometimes and worry about some type of nuance with my GTC might occur without me being aware.

The most important thing to me was to stay on the road and to keep the car from tipping over. As the rock traversed the undercarriage, the car tipped and shuddered quite a bit, which both surprised and worried me. But it was over in probably a second.
