FS: Girodisc light weight performance Rotors A1-123 A2-148 for AMG GTC or GTR

Used, in excellent condition with lots of thickness left. Lower your track days cost.

The Girodisc system offers a direct replacement for the OE iron discs on AMG GTS, GTC, and GTR models, requiring no modifications. These rotors bolt directly onto the vehicle and fit seamlessly with the OE calipers. By upgrading to lightweight, high-performance discs instead of a full big brake kit, you reduce rotational and unsprung weight, enhancing both acceleration and suspension response while maintaining factory brake bias and ABS efficiency.

Each rotor consists of a central hat section made from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, while the disc itself is crafted from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, poured and fully machined in-house in the USA. Featuring a curved vane design adapted from racing, these rotors act as a centrifugal pump, optimizing cooling performance. When replacements are needed, you can retain the aluminum hats and swap out just the discs, saving over 35% on the cost of new rotors.

The floating mount system connects the disc and hat using high-strength alloy steel pins—12 for the front and 10 for the rear—coated in cadmium for corrosion resistance. These pins absorb braking forces while allowing the rotors to expand and contract with temperature changes. Anti-noise spring washers minimize rattle, and the design ensures the rotor self-centers between the brake pads.

Specifications:

Front Rotors: P/N A1-123, 390mm diameter, 36mm new (replace at 34mm) – MSRP: $1500 (Disc: $1000, Reusable Hat: $500)
Rear Rotors: P/N A2-148, 360mm diameter, 26mm new (replace at 24mm) – MSRP: $1400 (Disc: $850, Reusable Hat: $550)

Condition:

This set is in excellent condition with over 50% rotor life remaining: (see attached PDF below)
  • Front: 35.31mm and 35.24mm
  • Rear: 25.05mm and 25.25mm
Ideal for those looking to start tracking their car and experimenting with performance upgrades without committing to the cost of new rotors. And when the rotor thickness vanished, you'll retain $1050 from your initial purchase because you will need to replace only the discs, as the aluminum hats are reusable.

Shipping:

Sold as a complete set (no partial sales). Ships within the 48 mainland U.S. states in two boxes:
  • Front rotors: 59 lbs total
  • Rear rotors: 35 lbs total
  • Total shipping weight: 94 lbs

Recommended Pads:

For optimal track performance and aggressive grip at high temperatures while maintaining smooth braking for daily or spirited driving, consider the PAGID RSL 29 Endurance Racing Brake Pads:
  • Front: Shape #8238
  • Rear: Shape #8246

Asking $1250, PM with BO.

I know this might spark some debate, but based on my limited experience with CCB on a racetrack and extensive experience with racetrack-grade iron rotors and pads at true track speeds and braking levels, I personally trust iron brakes more than anything else.

Another important factor to consider—unless you have professional equipment (Carboteq ) to assess the condition of CCB rotors before hitting the track, you could be in for an unpleasant surprise. CCBs "store" heat, making them highly effective for heat management, but they are also highly prone to thermal shock. I’m not saying CCBs aren’t good—they’re excellent for street and spirited driving, with no brake dust and incredible longevity. However, their advantages don’t always translate to the track.

Ahh, sorry. My misunderstanding \

I am not sure, but I do remember a thread discussing this issue. See if you can search for that thread.
