FS: Girodisc light weight performance Rotors A1-123 A2-148 for AMG GTC or GTR
The Girodisc system offers a direct replacement for the OE iron discs on AMG GTS, GTC, and GTR models, requiring no modifications. These rotors bolt directly onto the vehicle and fit seamlessly with the OE calipers. By upgrading to lightweight, high-performance discs instead of a full big brake kit, you reduce rotational and unsprung weight, enhancing both acceleration and suspension response while maintaining factory brake bias and ABS efficiency.
Each rotor consists of a central hat section made from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, while the disc itself is crafted from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, poured and fully machined in-house in the USA. Featuring a curved vane design adapted from racing, these rotors act as a centrifugal pump, optimizing cooling performance. When replacements are needed, you can retain the aluminum hats and swap out just the discs, saving over 35% on the cost of new rotors.
The floating mount system connects the disc and hat using high-strength alloy steel pins—12 for the front and 10 for the rear—coated in cadmium for corrosion resistance. These pins absorb braking forces while allowing the rotors to expand and contract with temperature changes. Anti-noise spring washers minimize rattle, and the design ensures the rotor self-centers between the brake pads.

Another important factor to consider—unless you have professional equipment (Carboteq ) to assess the condition of CCB rotors before hitting the track, you could be in for an unpleasant surprise. CCBs "store" heat, making them highly effective for heat management, but they are also highly prone to thermal shock. I’m not saying CCBs aren’t good—they’re excellent for street and spirited driving, with no brake dust and incredible longevity. However, their advantages don’t always translate to the track.

\I am not sure, but I do remember a thread discussing this issue. See if you can search for that thread.
