Back to the injectors

While I am not a video production sort of person I wanted to make an effort to cornicle the job since it turns out that bad injectors are common on the GT engine as described in the technical service bulletin.
So I did take the time to get most of the stuff out of the way to access the passenger side injector rail. The most important things to remove are the cowl brace bar and the battery surround panel (the worse to remove and replace). After about a half hour I am at the point where I had to stop since the engine is still hot and the fuel lines will leak gas when i loosen them from the high pressure pump.
Here are a few pictures of the parts that I removed and the fuel rail close to being removed..

So I did loosen wires and made access to pull the rail far out but NOT completely out. For that I would have had to unclip at least two more wires. Instead I removed the injectors from the rail as it was lifted 3/4 the way out and I will reinstall the new ones the same way.
Added are pictures of the tube connector I was first talking about and pictures of the rail pulled up and then the injectors sitting in theirrecesses till I get the new ones.

removing the injectors with the rail 3/4 of the way pulled out was a bit of a challenge and required plyers and a pry bar to gently removing them. The new ones will have a tiny bit of dielectric grease on the oring so they are easy to install and the clips that hold them in can be pre installed to the rail so you simply plus them into place as you turn the injector to the correct spot for the wire connector placement (there are lands on the injector to get this correct).
Below is a picture of tool placement for removing injectors from rail pulled 3/4 the way out of engine.

The important point I would say for anyone wanting to do this job is to consider removing the injectors from the rail when it is pulled out about 3/4 of the way from the engine. IF someone follows WIS you have to do a lot more steps in order the get the wire harness out of the way to remove the rail completely with the injectors on it.
For installing the injectors you need to put a small dab of dielectric grease on the injector o ring where it slides into the rail. This helps you to install it while its in the car. You then use the retainer clips to position the injectors correctly as to the placement for the wire connector.
All in all its not a bad job and quite frankly the worse part is removing and replacing either side fender panels. Im referring the the black metal panel that surrounds the battery on passenger side and the one that surrounds the brake master cylinder on the drivers side. There is NO simply way to explain how to get these things out and back installed but to say you have to remember carefully how you got them out.
