So if you followed my injector replacement story you know that I had to code in each injector to the cars computer once they were installed. IF this is not done you end up with a REALLY bad running engine. So I have been through several scan tools in this process and I discovered that my Icarsoft MB2 would not do the coding. I brough a MB2.0 latest version which is supposed to do the job and it would not finish it. I brough a MB4.0 and then decided to buy a nicer CRmax. To my surprise the CR Max will work just like the MB2 latest edition till the point where you code in the injector and say OK and then it says the vehicle is not supported. The ONLY one that does the job is the MB4.0.

I might add that this is with them all updated prior to doing the coding.

Below is a picture with the oldest MB2 scanner I have had for years now that does NOT do coding and then the two new ones (the MB2 latest was already returned). I might return both the new ones and look for a scanner that REALLY works with all vehicles. The CRMAX did not work with a 2024 Ram 3500 or a 2026 Ram or a 2022 Ford F150 very well. On the plus side it did reset the oil change indicator a Porsche.

 

They cost a lot more, but I have had great success with Autel and also a Launch general purpose scanner for all my cars (except Ferrari!)

 

Thank you. am probably going to send both the new ones back. I was shocked that the 400 dollar unit would not do the job that the 250 dollar unit did. That was enough to say to myself look for something better and you saying Autel was what I was hoping to hear.
