Detailing Services & Products
Last year I got into using Meguiars quick detailing spray after washing. That seems to help bead water and keep the shine up.
I have a shortage of time and am a bit timmid about detailing. Although I did a bunch of research ... I have never gone as far as stripping off the previous wax and building up either Ziano or a Mequiars wax system.
With the summer approaching, I am now thinking of purchasing some intensive detailing services. The company I am looking at offers a "power polish using Luster Glaze polish" and "Luster Glaze wax and hand buff" services.
I Googled the name but have found nothing on the products.
Questions:
- Is this a good treatment? They have been detailing for 10 years and apparantly on some classic, high end and exotic cars.
- Should I wash thoroughly with Blue Dawn before delivering the car for such service.
- Or should I just find the time and do it myself ... to derive the personal satisfaction. At the risk of doing a bad job?
What do you guys think?

That's a hard question to ask a detailer to give an unbiased opinion on.
A)The only "Luster' products I'm familiar with are for use on motorcycles (FWIW they are VG)
B)If you are nervous / inexperienced with detailing take it to a pro (ask for recent client references) as it will be easier to ‘upkeep’ a pro detailed vehicle.

Dawn is a dishwashing detergent and is not meant for cleaning vehicle paint.
If you are going to pay for the services of a professional detailer I'm sure he will know how to prep a paint surface (if he doesn't...keep looking)
