I Tried Zaino this past weekend

I tried the Zaino product line this past weekend. I was very happy with the results I received from Zaino, I used it on my old SL320 to see how it works before I tried it on the SL600.

I used their ZFX with both Z2 and Z5 and Z8 in between.

Curious how others who use this product use this product. Specifically what products and how many coats of each to get that great glossy finish.

I have used Zaino for many years. I have found that the more coats you put on, the deeper the shine. I normally put on 3 coats to start, and then apply another coat every 1-2 months. I'll dawn wash and clay once a year and start over. I thinking claying the car is the key to really getting a deep shine.

What do you mean? What do you use instead of the zfx? And what are your results like? I have never used zaino w/out zfx so I am curious as to what happens when you don't use it.

The ZFX is better for climates that are colder. The ZFX acts as a catalyst and makes the product dry faster. I live in FL, and I still use the ZFX (I hate to wait).

Be sure to read and follow the directions, always end with a coat of Z2, the Z2 is what adds gloss. Here is a pic of my car after a few coats of Zaino, I even Zaino my wheels :p :

Well, without the ZFX, you'd have to apply a coat of Z1 first, and then the Z2. You'd also have to wait a good 12-24 hours in between each coat of Z2 (you don't have to wait between Z1 & Z2). With ZFX, I can skip the Z1 step and get 3 coats on within 24 hours. Using ZFX, you can at least get 2 coats of Z2 in the same amount of time that it would take you to get on one coat of Z2 without ZFX. You certainly have the choice to do either way, and I have tried both. Results are about the same, but the time savings IMHO is well worth the added cost of the ZFX.

Just don't mix up too much at one time.
