Paint tips please

I am trying to re-spray some repairs on my Black (040 F) 92 400E and am having a hell of a time trying to stop it from running. I'm using SpiesHecker paint. I have reduced the paint 50/50 with 3056 SLOW and I am getting runs all over the place. The upside is I am getting very good at sanding...this is the fourth time this week. So, does anyone have any advice and the correct ratio of reducer to paint. Maybe even recommend a different / better system.
Also, what is the paint in the base...is it enamel? Thanks

What brand of paint are you using? It should tell you the proper thinning ration. The slow thinner allows the paint to flow but also makes it more prone to run. Sounds like you need to adjust your gun to move less paint. Also make sure the tip in the gun is rated properly for how mech air you compressor moves or you will have this problem....
