My First Fender Bender
Well, It happened yesterday on the way back home from the office. The traffic of normal and mainaining around 40-45MPH. The Kia Sport in front of me slammed its brake and I did too. But mine could not make it with such a short notice and the nose of my coupe was under the Kia's spare tire. No major dings or anything but the tire marks are on my hood now.
How can I get rid of them?

Sorry to hear that Nana. It could have been worse though. I'd have a chat to Alboston in the deatiling forum to find out your best course of action.

a similar thing happened to me (in my old 2000 civic) last winter. it had snowed about 3 inches on the ground and i was trying to get home... well the minivan in front of me decided to go halfway up a hill, realize they couldn't make it, and PUT ON THEIR BRAKES. needless to say the minivan slid down the hill and into my car. the rubber bumper left about a foot-long black streak on my front fender.
i used 3M rubbing compound, as fine grain as i could find, put it on a terry towel and rubbed away lightly. it took about 5 minutes to get it all off and then i just put a coat of wax back on. simple.
good luck

i agree, use some bug and tar remover or some clay to get rid of the marks and inspect for scratches. I am 99% sure that the car was scratched because the spare is unprotected and probably filthy. The dirt on the spare was ground into the paint and probably left some deep scratches. Hopefully it wasnt too bad, if u have deep scratches, nothing can fix it short of repainting it.

Thank you all. I tried with Bug and Tar remover and it worked. It removed 99% of all the marks and I also applied the ZYMOL polish and now I can hardly spot it. But there is a small dent on the hood which u can see at a specific angle or when you run the hand slowly you can feel it I may have to try some paintless dent removal service but don not know if it will work

Yes the PDR worked! I had a dent of about couple of inches and the dent guy fixed it really well. It is still visible but only this guy and I can tell where it is!
Since he could not fully fix it to his satisfaction, he gave me a huge discount too
