Cleaning Chrome?
My exhaust tips for my 55 are dirty as hell (bad chicago winter). They have lots of black soot on the tips. What can I use to clean my chrome tips? You guys want a picture of what they look like?

dont use metal polish, chrome is too thin
go to an auto parts store and buy a spray can of bug and tar remover.
spray, wait, wipe off and polish with a dry terry cloth
yes, please post a pic.

I use Windex and 0000 Steel Wool (Home Depot) then apply Rejex to help keep them easy to wipe off when washing the car. Works great for me.
I'm not a big fan of Rejex on paint but it works great on the tips.

steel wool will scratch the finish. Even if it is grade 0000. Another common remedy is using aluminum foil.. same thing as before, too harsh. My new favorite it NXT all metal polish from Meguiars. GREAT product. Blows others out of the water.
