I know it sounds like a stange term, but it looks just like it sounds... The sidewall beginning with the tread turns a light shade of blue. It usually comes off when you wash the car, but I don't know why it happens in the first place! I think it might have something to do with heat. Let me know if you have any ideas!

I've can't remember ever having seen light blue tires, but then I don't live in a hot climate either. Maybe I should have paid more attention on my travels. Have you tried one of the many tire dressings recommended in this forum to see if it helps? Are you using a tire dressing now that might be the indirect cause?

Hi,

The tires are Michelin Pilot Sports, and thankfully the sidewall is relatively short so at least the blue rubber band look isn't too noticable. I've been using Mequiar's Endurance which seems to work well, but by the end of the week they're a little blue. It's just one of those little inexplicable (so far!) things.

Thanks everyone, and if you find out let me know!
