Recommendations?: air blower

Looking for recommendations for a simple, easy to use, powerful, cordless air blower to get those frustrating bits of water out from the mouldings and taillight edges, and other nooks and crannies.

TIA,

EDJ

A Rayon cloth will absorb the water like a chamois. Only takes a second. We rent a cordless blower for $ 995.00 a day if you need one.

I haven't been able to find a cordless blower that has enough power. The "Cycle Dry" I purchased was a POS in my opinion. I purchased it not only to blow off my bike, but also vehicles. This was a corded version as well. I got rid of it if that means anything.

Having resulted to a cord for power now, I use a dedicated wet/dry vac (Craftsman 6.5hp) and it works like a charm. I couldn't see how you could get that much power from a uncorded/non-gas model.

Unless your rayon cloth will take water out from behind the door moldings and behind the side view mirror glass, I'll stick with the blower. Preferably a brunette...ba-dump-bump. Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the filet.

If you just need a quick blast to clear water from the mirrors and such, get a can of compressed air from an office supply store.

Thanks Buellwinkle, you stole my thunder. Sounds like a perfect inexpensive solution to the gas powered 2-stroke Stihl leaf blower that would probably sand-blast the paint while removing the water.

I could go through a can of that stuff a week getting all the water out of the trunk and hood crevices, mouldings, light edges, etc.

I was hoping a small, cheap (i.e.-not too powerful) little blower would do the trick. Like the ones used at car washes. A concentrated blast of air to force water out of seams and such.

I thought I had read a thread here about the common use of such an item, but I've been unable to locate it, and the responses here indicate to me that perhaps it wasn't as common a tool as I had thought.

Thanks anyhow Buell and BK.

I know you said you wanted a battery powered option but if you don't mind a cord the Metro Vac n Blo sounds perfect for what you need. This is an extremely powerful yet small vacuum and blower. Its got lots of great attachments for automotive detailing and makes blowing out the seams easy. I use this in my professional details and personally and it works great. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

I can second Greg's recommendation. Once you use the Metro Vac N Blo, you will wonder how you ever got along without it. Yes it's corded, but so what? Not inconvenient at all, yet the benefits are tremendous. There are so many nooks and crannies to blow water out of, its incredible. It takes me about ten minutes to do the entire car, including inside trunk, doors and hood area.

They are on sale http://www.autogeek.net/vacuumblowers.html. This is a great place for detaing products.

I can't stress enough how great a tool this is!!

I looked at those Metro vac n blos linked, but can't figure out which one would best serve my purpose. The motorcycle one?

What do you suggest, model-wise?

Okey Dokey, I got the Sharper Image cordless, rechargeable air blower. I'm going to give that a try next time I wash the cars and will report back.

Okay, I got this blower for X-mas:

http://www.sharperimage.com/us/en/ca.../sku__SI360BLU

I used it today for the first time. It worked well. It only goes for about 10 minutes on an overnight charge, but that was sufficient for at least three passes around the car. It is also completely cordless. It is powerful enough to blow the water out from behind the door mouldings, tailight gaps, side-view mirrors, etc. I also used it to blow a bunch of dust and leaves/fur out of my garage too, on the same charge.

It is NOT as strong as an air compressor, FYI, but works well for blowing down the driveway and such.

I'm pleased with it, it suits my needs well, and I'm neither tethered to a cord, nor stuck with a $300 mini-vac.

Thanks to all who bothered to provide input, I considered all of your adivce.
