one more waxin questoin

k i got Meguiar's NXT wax thing i waxed my car by my own way lol and then i read the wax thing here and every thing it says not to do i did Lol. this is what i did put a lot and then i applied it in lines and my friend told me to do it in circles so is that bad? and then it says not to put pressure when u apply i put a lot of pressure and also i did it like i was cleaning the car with the applicator Lol
. it says not to wipe it off with a lot of pressure and i put a lot of pressure and then how long do i leave Meguiar's NXT wax for after i apply it? i waited different times to test but i dont know what dry mean and i dont know what a small ammount means cuz if i put a lil bit i cant really see it so i put a lot so i can see it i have no idea how to do this right Lol

so do u think what i did was really bad or not really a big deal?

Not really a big deal. Circles will provide you with a bit more consistancy. Make sure you are overlapping throughout for a uniform finish.

As for pressure, NXT Paste Wax is pretty effortless to apply, so you don't need pressure. Also, it's not a "polish" so your not having to break down abrasives to remove swirls, stains, etc... It's a "protectant" so no pressure needed.

It should not have been overly difficult to remove (there are easier waxes out there though). If it was, you may have 1) Applied too much 2) Surface of vehicle was pretty hot (i.e. out in sun). Also, using microfiber towels to remove makes the process easier as well.

So in the end, not a big deal. Use circles, use less products, and use less pressure next time around for pleasant experience!!

What makes a scratch visible is the way light reflects from its microscopic peaks and valley’s are two-dimensional and the light reflects from them differently from the rest of the paint surface. The reasoning behind hand polishing in one direction only is that unlike a machine polisher the pressure applied is not consistent, especially if you polish using circular motions. The inconsistent abraded pattern causes light to reflect unevenly thereby highlighting the abrasions or scratches

Order of product application- hood- roof-trunk from front to back and, where practical, the quarter panels- door panels- and bumpers from top to bottom. Washing, claying and waxing that way has to do with the way light reflects off the body panels and is also less likely to show the surface marring that you will invariably make.
