Caked on brake dust on alloys

Caked on brake dust on alloys
Hi people - Bought a 1988 300SE (W126) with 148,000km some 3 months ago. Very good nick but would like to get the 15 slot alloys clean!
I am finding it difficult to clean off the accumulated caked-on black brake dust that has collected inside those 15 holes/slots.
Has anyone had any luck or do I have to buy a little Dremmel polisher or similar to fix the problem?

any clay bar will work. Clay magic is the brand of clay i prefer....
pool acid probably will not substitute for wheel acid. Try any type of degreaser first. If it is REALLY bad agitate it with a brush. but i think clay will probably do the trick.
