Cost of your Oil Change
I'm disgusted by the price of the oil changes. But I guess if we really change it every 10k miles, it is not so bad. As a side question, do you guys really change it every 10,000 miles as recommended or more often or less often? Please keep this format so readers can review it more easily.

Where: Independent shop
Quantity: 5.8-6 quarts

Last time I did mine, I think around $55-60 between the filter & mobil oil. You can save a lot if you diy, but it sounds like your car is likely under warranty which might require you to get stuck with the dealer $$

Ask them to send you a test container for your oil. You send thenm the sample with a little info about your car ( or whatever) plus a little less than $25. The do a diagnostic check on the oil and can tell you tons about problems or potential problems by what they find in your oil. At 155k miles my S320 came back with flying colors. They show you what % of differant contaminant and show what is normal for compairison. It gave me confidence in how I was treating the car.
