Removing adhesive... tried debadging suggestions..

Hey hey all - great forum going on here. I just got a 300CE that originally had some chrome trim on the car the I wanted to remove. After removing the two pieces of door trim (vertical piece on edge of the door) I found a pretty hard adhesive / tape ?? left over. I tried suggestions from the debadging posts but not much success... any other suggestions on how to get this stuff off?? THANKS!

WD-40 on a rag not paper towel. If subborn, saturate adhesive residue with WD-40 and wait a couple of minutes before rubbing.
