Ok, I used and folded half of my clay bar (Zaino's Z-18) so many times, it turned into a mess similar to that of used, old bubble gum. Very stretched out, frayed ends, holes developed in the middle, very soft as opposed to how firm it started out.

Just me, or did I over lubricate? I didn't soak it in water, I just used a lot of lube (1oz Maguier's Gold soap to 15 oz. warm water).

Some clays will do that. The best clay I have used is the Zaino clay. It stays pretty stiff for a long time. Use caution however, as most clays left in water will turn into a gummy like substance at some point.
