How do I remove road scars from windshield?

I have always wondered if there was some kind of treatment that could remove or diminish the zillions of tiny little road scars on my windshield. I 'live' at 75mph on the open highway. I avoid following other vehicles too closely, especially trucks, ESPECIALLY flat bed or construction trucks, but I still end up with a scarred windshield. Granted, it only looks bad when the sun is in my sights. Am I missing something, is there a treatment?

The only thing you can do about it is get a new windshield. You can try polishing glass. They will still be there.

I don't mean to be rude, but no, no way. The many uses of toothpaste keep getting blown out of proportion. If toothpaste took scratches out of glass with a little rubbing none of us would have teeth left. Even glass polish can't remove much more than very light surface scratches.

Try using a glass polish, I'm sure it will get SOME of them out, but even glass polish won't get the bulk of them. It does do a great job 'restoring' your windshield as far as the marks left by the wipers that are otherwise almost impossible to remove.

FYI...talk to your insurance folks. If you "accidently" have a rockchip that spreads to more than a dollars length, my comprehensive deductible is only $100. Well worth it, considering new MB glass and installation is $900.
