Petrol filling spill.What to do??
After filling up this morning the pump jammed and some petrol spilled out and onto the panel and bumper below the filler flap in my 2001 BMW.
I flushed the panel with water (after sealing the fuel cap) and drove straight home ( 5 minutes away) where I proceed to wash the rear corner with my normal car wash twice.I also washed the black plastic bumper trim throughly as well.
After using the chamios the panel and trim still smells a little of petrol.
What do I do now.
Will the petrol hurt the finish of the car( I just polished it two weeks ago).Afraid to polish again if it still smells.
What is the best procedure if it happens again?
