Question: When it is time to reapply Z-2 or Z-5 (I've had 4 coats of Z-2 on for 4 months now) should the existing Z-2 be stripped (i.e., dawn-washed) before reapplying additional coats of Z-2?

No, you can apply right over the existing coats. Every 10 coats ofr Z-2/Z-5 you should use a coat of Z-1, unless you are using ZFX.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info...I use Z-2 w/ ZFX, so I presume that I do not ever need to strip the Z-2 just for the sake of doing so...good news!

I'm sure eventually I will need to strip, clay, polish, etc., as conditions warrant.

Thanks again for the info.

I usually strip with Clay once a year for good measure. Inbetween I just layer. I only really use ZFX for the 1st three coats after stripping. I then layer a coat of Z-2 when needed and use Z-1 every 10 coats.
