clear bra opinions

what do u guys think about this product, to do a clear bra on a car, specifically our new s class

to places i have talked to, premier and ultimate sheild in orange.

both seem good and use same products

just not sure as to how much of the car to do, if we do, and if we should go complete custom or let the computer do some plots

I'm a purist and a detailer. For those reasons, on my personal car, I don't want to see film as it detracts from appreciating the paint.

With that said, having clear film has many advantages. For one, safety. You basically save time and money on repairs normally requiring bodywork. Repairs such as paint chips, car getting keyed, scrapes and scuffs, etc. The film protects you from all that and keeps the car original and bodywork-free.

As for installers, I use premier exculisvely here in OC. There are others great installers, premier just happens to get my demanding standards and meets and exceeds them every time.

If your budget allows, go for a seamless and custom application. This way, only YOU know there's film on the car.

Just make sure the paint is prepped properly prior to clear film application. On every car we send to premier, any area that is to be filmed is clayed, machine polished leaving a perfect blank slate for the film to be applied. We then polish and wax the film post-application.

Good luck and I hope this answers your questions.

Glad I could help...as for our pricing, it's not published, but you can save 30% off the prices on our site if you opt for an exterior-only service. This translates to a high-end detail for every price point.

I think if you maintained the wheels with a proper wheel cleaner and brush, those discolorations around the bolts would not happen. It's usually a build-up of brake dust over time that makes cleaning wheels difficult. And if you've used a polish and not cleaned off all the residue, specially around the bolts, then the dust has a place to adhere to even more.

My best advice would be to spend lots of time and make sure you've properly clayed and polished the wheels and have no residue of any sort. Then, apply a polymer sealant like RejEx and do at least 3-4 coats about 24 hours apart. After this initial transformation, simply use a proper pH balanced wheel cleaner like P21S and a horse hair brush and you're all set. An EZ detail brush comes in handy to get inside the wheels without pulling them off on subsequent wheel claeaning. German brakes are designed to be high performance hence the brake dust on the wheels. Hope this helps and here's a link to some products:
