Piano Black Dashboard----fine scratches

Hi all,

I have CLS55 with a piano black dashboard. It looks beautiful although under certain light, I see very fine scratches.

Can anyone recommend a certain wax, sealant or swirl remover.

I use all of the zaino products for the exterior so I was thinking of trying the zaino swirl remover (z2 i believe).

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have used Menzerna 106FF, which is a very fine polish, on my piano black using a foam applicator. It will remove the fine scratches but like all MB wood finishes the wood will scratch again. The epoxy finish appears to be very soft.

Someone recommended that I go to a piano shop and get the polish that they use on black pianos but I have not bothered to do so. You might want to give that a try.

+1...I'd also recommend putting some wax on it as well. Something like P21S would do the trick. We use a mf applicator to apply the polish and apply the wax with a foam app.

You could also try a glaze, or some type of paint pre-treatment. Something like Swissvax Cleaner Fluid might gloss up the finish and deal with some of the defects as well.
