I just got a black 2000 E320. The car has probably had a wreck (although my mechanic could not see any damage to the frame or underlying parts) or some vandalism in it's past life as the hood has been repainted. But whomever painted the hood, did a really crappy job. It's kind of cross between an orange peel texture and it looking like there's a [permanent layer of dust underneath the paint. Someone suggested that if there is enough paint on there, a detailer could wet sand it down with like 4 million grit sandpaper and basically smooth it out. Is this a real possibility? Does anyone know of a detailer in San Diego that could do this?
