Black Mercedes Wax
What is the best polisher and best wax for a black mercedes? I have some scratches that would be nice if they are gone haha and to restore the jet black mirror shine. so what do you guys use? I have used some mothers california gold with carnauba wax but am not really impressed by it. A friend of mine used to give me ardex professional polishing compound and wax and was somewhat really good, but i can't seem to find that anymore. please post comments don't just look

Unfortunately, Mercedes clear coat is very hard and requires careful use of polishing compounds to remove scratches and applying by hand without adding swirl marks is next to impossible.
I've had great success using a Porter Cable dual action random orbital polisher along with Meguiars M105 and M205 polishes but you could use similar products from Menzerna or others. There are other choices for polishers too, just make sure you get one with a dual action random and match it with the right sized pads. 5.5" pads work good with the Porter Cable.
Also, you'll find that its the compounds/polishes that remove scratches, not the wax. The wax/sealant is just a last step to seal/protect the paint and give it depth/luster.
I'd take the time to read up at one of the detailing forums for more info. Meguiars, Autogeek, Autopia are all good places to learn.

I have a dark maroon C280. I have used the Griot's Garage polisher with good results. The polisher is easy to use and there are three grades of polishing fluids so you can start with a mild abarasive and move up if you need to. I have been very pleased with their system and the Best of Show wax is superb.
