I would NOT use WD-40 on any of your plastic parts. While it may look good now, you will see it will attract tons of dirt and dust (already got your lint) and will look terrible in a short period of time. I recommend Meguiars engine kote which is a water based resin that has some amount of shine but not much. Basically gives it a new look. I did it to our new C320, will post pics.

oh yeah, Im aware of wd40 attracting dust. It was a quick decision yesterday when I decided to clean the engine and the only thing I had was wd40. I just wanted quick results to compare to the dust. After a few days I'm expecting it to be dusty again but this time I'm going to use "trim shine" by Stoners.
