PERL - The R stands for RUBBER - As in TIRES!

The letters in PERL stands for Plastic, Engine, Rubber & Leather coat. I decided to give it a try on some rubber.

After my two week test ended with the Eco Touch Tire Shine, which ended with impressive results, it was time to put CarPro PERL to the test.

PERL, by CarPro, is a durable, water based protective coating that is designed to be used on all exterior rubber and vinyl trim, including tires. PERL can also be used on interior surfaces such as leather, vinyl, and other plastic panels that require excellent UV protection.

Surfaces treated with PERL will look and feel new for up to three months. For a low glass, natural look, PERL can be diluted depending on the desired look and the surface being treated.

Recommend dilution ratio:
External plastics - 1: 3 (1 quantity PERL : 3 quantity water).
Engine – 1:1~3
Tires - undiluted ~ 1:1
Interior rubber / dashboard / leather / vinyl – 1:5

For this test PERL was applied to the tires on my daily driver. Prior to applying any dressing to a tire, thoroughly clean the tire using a strong cleaner such as Amazing Roll Off along with a stiff scrub brush. This will ensure that the surface being treated is completely clean.

PERL is available in several different sizes, the one featured in this test is the 500ml (16.9 oz) Eco Refill. With the Eco Refill there is less to throw away. Simply empty the refill in a container, or spray bottle if being diluted, and you're all set!

Before PERL

Apply a thin, even coat of PERL using a Cobra Flex Foam Applicator. This will ensure a thin, even coat. Less than a minute after application, PERL dries to the touch.
