Chrome Door Trim Scratches.....suggestions?

Ive searched the forum for help with this.....maybe Im using the wrong terminology...

On my CL500 I have Mirror Polished Stainless steel trim on the outer side of the door as well as the bottom of the door frame (engraved "Mercedes--Benz") where it meets the car.

Image attached

The sides are fine but the bottom trim has some pretty deep scratches (This may be normal with getting in and out of the car and yours shoes scuff it)....

Anyway, I want to try to remove the scratches and then apply some sort of barrier to avoid this happening in the future.

As always, I really appreciate your help!

I'd like to know how to fix this too. With mine it's the chrome trim running down the side of the car on the doors.

Use a lightly abrasive chemical cleaner (Klasse AIO) or a finishing polish (Menzerna 85 RD)
