Can I use z-5 on newly painted surface?

My hood, driver's side quarter panel and front clip were recently repainted and there are some serious swirl marks (my car is black). I usually z-5 my car and follow up with z-6. I've had good luck with the z-5 and want to use it but don't know if there's a certain "cure" period for the paint before I use the z-5 / z-6. Any help would be appreciated. The swirl marks are driving me crazy. Thanks, John
