Glass Cleaner (tree sap stuff)

Windshield has clear-ish specs all over.

I used normal automotive glass cleaner and I can't get this stuff off.

Have you tried clay bar?

Tree sap is one of the worst things for car. If you think your windshield is bad, imagine the rest of your cars paint covered in the stuff! Clay bar everything, and never park under a tree again (as tempting as the shade may be).

Togwt,

What do you recommend for glass cleaner?

Regardless of this sap issue.

From his web links and my own research, it seems many people advise Stoners Invisible Glass cleaner. It's available everywhere including Wal-mart, Advance Auto, etc. NEVER use Windex.

External glass surfaces

Cleaning glass has much more to do with the towel and technique used then the cleaning product, they usually contain >90 % water and < 10% isopropyl alcohol and a surfactant (capryl glucoside). Be cognizant that some glass cleaners also contain waxes and/or silicones, which will exacerbate any ‘fogging’ problems on interior glass..

Factory glass is installed with the help of strong suction cups to assist in its placement; unfortunately they often leave marks that are only visible in direct sunlight. These can usually be removed (least abrasive first) a chemical paint cleaner (P21S Paintwork Cleanse) detailer’s clay or a glass polish
(Autoglym Car Class Polish or Zaino Z-12 Clear-View Glass Polish)

Driving towards the sun, haze, streaking and an oily film will cut your visibility to a dangerous level, perfectly clean, haze and streak-free glass surfaces should be a simple thing to accomplish. If you can’t see the road, you can’t react to your surroundings. Glass Science Glass Scrub is a hand polish that will remove water marks and other surface road dirt and grime

Internal glass surfaces

Clean glass with a 1:15 solution of Isopropyl alcohol and distilled water, using a micro ion of fibre towel, with a fine mist bottle, spray the glass, not towel and with medium pressure agitate the area. You may need to repeat this process
