Hello, I am a student from Korea Univ in South Korea. I amcurrently carrying out a consulting project for a domestic leather manufacturingfirm(currently supplying vehicle manufacturers like GM, Hyundai, Kia)interested in entering the US automotive restyling aftermarket of automotiveinterior textiles.
In midst of our research, I’ve found out that access to relevant information israther limited due to small market size. Thus, I am writing this email hopingfor some information from the experts of the market such as yourself. If youcould take a moment of your time to answer some of the questions below, itwould help me greatly in understanding the market in greater depth.
@About the Supply Chain (Aftermarket supplying for restyling needs only,Excluding 1st market supply to the VMs or replacement market)
We are assuming that automotive textile(such as car seat covers) supply chain inaftermarkets is simpler than the auto parts supply chain. Could you verify thisassumtion?
Manufacturer(such as Toray "Ultrasuede,Alcantara")-------->Wholesaler(Warehouse Distributors, Jobbers, WagonJobbers)-------->Installer(Restyler shops... etc)
1) Is there any players we missed in our supply chain?
2) Who are the wholesalers? Are they individual runned small companies base onregion? Are they authorized distributors of Toray Company?
@About the M/S of automotive aftermarket interior textile market
During our research only branded material we found for restlying market wasToray's "Ultrasuede" and "Alcantara". We are very curiousabout the rest of the market.
1) Is there any branded products like Torray's or is the rest of market justfragmented market of Non-branded products produced by mid sized companies? Isthere any major brands we're missing?
2) Would you please provide us with some of major suppliers of automotiveinterior textile and fabric used for car seats and headliners (especially, suppliersof suede/artificial leather)?
Thank you so much for your time. I would appreciate it if you could provide uswith any of the answers to questions above.
Also we’re giving out Itune’s 50$ Giftcards to some of whom participate in oursimple preference survey. Survey takes 5mins tops, anyone interested can do itin the URL below
