I was doing a detail on the gf's car and noticed all these random tiny cuts into the paint. Most of them don't feel that deep as i can run my fingernail past them but it scares me to try to buff them out as they're showing white.
Her car was parked outside for about 6 months before I bought a house however my paint shows none of those marks.
I did about 8 passes with menzerna SIP and it reduced the brightness of the nicks a tad, but they're definitely still there.
Any idea what they are and how I can get rid of them? Wet sand...repaint?

Unfortunately you'll need a repaint to correct that.
Look up "crows feet", that is what it's called in the detailing world. I would try and stay away from those areas and correct the areas around it only.

It looks like it was pelted with gravel or something.

Thanks! Apparently there was a recall on the 06-10 civics with that paint code because of the crow's feet. I think her car meets the guidelines of the recall and it looks like new paint for the front end of the car. Originally Posted by WHTEVO
