Is this stuff any good it comes in a red bottle.. any precautions i should take? I have maya rims which are chrome in the middle and the lip is a clear coat polish.. the rim maker is lowenhart just to give you the idea of the rim style.. can i use the chrome polish on the lip?
or should i take it back and get some clay chrome polish? i got it at autozone so i dont have all that much of a selection..
come on now people i trying to clean my rims in a little but i would feel more comfortable with some feedback.. my main concern is, is it ok to use the chrome polish on a polished lip that has a clear coating over it?
NO ! The clear coat should be treated as a clear coat. DO NOT use chrome cleaner on clear coat. Crome cleaner is made for metal and will scratch the clear coat.
****.. thank god someone posted back cuz i was about to do it !! thanks man!! so what if i waxin my rim and i happen to accidently rub up against the lip? will it stain?

This is a guess, so as advice it's worth nothing. It should be OK to smear the chrome cleaner onto the clearcoat, but I've never used Mothers. I have seen Brasso used as the final(?) polish for new paint at a high-end restoration shop, a place where people are spending six figures on a restoration. Just gently wipe it off.
