Behind a Salt spreader
Unfortunately I am in NJ, And recently while on the GSP, a salt spreader to my right lane turns on his spreader. I heard the pings on my car,
Few paint chips... But I cant help wonder what was I suppose to do in such a situation to prevent paint chips?
Was I to slam on the brakes and wait for him to pass or gas it and try to pass him ?

I feel your pain , those things are like projectiles. Hate it. The last time i used a Ford Excursion as a shield and got away, Not much you can do but try and stay back if you see them ahead or wait for clear safe opening to get away. One day a dam landscaping truck full of uncovered sand jumped out on the road at hi speed and sand blasted the F out my car.
