Removing salt stains from carpet
Tis the season. My fitness centre decided to salt their parking lot before I got there yesterday, leaving the surface bare but damp and covered in undissolved salt. Needless to say I tracked some back into the car, leaving a half dozen small circular stains on the carpet.
This topic seems under-discussed considering how common it must be. I used a vacuum cleaner (which didn't touch the salt) followed by a commercial carpet cleaning solution (Argosheen) on a wet mf towel. Rubbing in the Argosheen did the trick and it left my carpet looking cleaner in the heel area, but I have doubts that it would deal with heavier salt stains. How do you get rid of them?
