Wash water filter?

'98 SL500
Wash water filter?
Has anyone used a water filter device fitted at the hose bib, that removes hard water minerals that leave deposits even with towel drying ? I recall seeing one used at a marina to hose down yachts. I've searched the web with no luck. Not sure how it works, could be di-ionization or charcoal ? Seems MB dealers use somthing similar.

The only way I could find it is to search for 'water filter', then it's in one of the threads about the Mr. Clean deal. You have to link through about three threads to find it, since 'RV' is too short to search for. I don't even reember which section it's in. Sorry. But you should be able to find it that way. Just scroll through until you find the 'RV Water Filter' link.

Hey...if you want to wash your car with a spot free system like the yachts.......don't waist your money on those partially efficient systems you see behind a lot of these yachts. IT a big marketing hypeI went to Culligan....they are the water softener specialists.... I bought a small fiberglass tank....had them fill it with ion exchange resin ( the same as the yacht filter). I went to the hardware store and got a couple pipe to garden hose adapters and VOILA!!!!! made my own spot free system for under 90 dollars.that treats 3-4000 gallons of water. The just backflush with rock salt for softeners available at Home Depot.
The 200-300 dollars I saved on the fancy yacht system.... I bought dinner at an expensive restaurant....nice paint sealant....detailing supplies... and still have change left over.....
ps. I run a yacht and use this system on board
