Window trim finish water spotted
I posted some of this on the W210 forum as a general comment, but I am hoping that I may get an answer here.
My window trim is a bronze/copper colour. It appears to be water spotted, like when rain dries on the car. I have tried various cleaners and polishes. I even tried jewelers rouge on a test spot, but nothing seems to clean these ring marks off. I am kind of leery to rub any harder as I am not sure if the finish on the trim is surface treatment (paint, coating) or if it is similar to a heat treatment. I have yet to wear through it, but would really hate to accidentally by using the wrong technique. Does anyone know just what the finish is or how it is applied? Thanks for any input.
