Oil Change question?
Ok so in reading here on the forum, I see a lot of people going with a mityvac or something similar. I understand what it does and how it makes things easier by not needing to pull the plug. I went to the mechanics who work for my town (I also work for the town) and they don't use them. The comment they made was about the gunk left that the pump didn't get.
So my question is had anyone tried pulling the plug after using the vac to see whats left?
I wonder if it is more specific to each engine? where the dip stick is? where the drain plug is?
For the record I have a 2008 r350 with 100k, I know this engine is in other vehicles so if someone can answer in general or specific to my vehicle that would be great.
Also what do you guys think of running partial synthetic every 3000 miles with full every other 7500. My thoughts were to alternate me doing the full to save cost and getting a shop to run a cheaper partial synthetic for less miles, but draining it the normal way.
