GLC's Beige Leather & Care Questions
Hello guys,
I got a 2016 GLC with Silk Beige interior. Don't ask why I made this mistake, as I already had beige leather (on my 1st 2007 BMW) and it was a nightmare. My GLC is still pretty much in mint condition but after less than 2 months some tiny sections of the leather are already showing little black dots and lines in between the small "veins".
Anyway, I've searched through the threads around here and on other forums, and there seems to be some inconclusive and different advices regarding leather care and cleaning. Mainly depending if the leather is genuine or coated, and what products to use.
I guess the question I need to ask is:
- Is the Silk Beige leather on the GLC considered "genuine leather" or not? I've read that if you apply cleaning products that are made for genuine leather to modern cars with "coated leather" you might get unwanted results?
- Do I clean with a damp cloth? microfibre or not? with a brush beforehand?
- are (alcoholic) baby wipes okay to go with my typ of leather?
In sum, what is the best way to take care of this one?
Thanks all!
