I thought there was a thread on this before but I can't seem to find it, looking for suggestions on the best way/products to use to clean the exhaust tips on my E55. The outside and insides get just blackened from soot from the exhaust and they look terrible. I don't want to scratch the chrome by using steel wool that is too rough. Suggestions?
I use Eagle One wadding polish. Google this and you can see for yourself what it is. I use this on my C300 exhaust tips and on my aluminium running boards. It will not scratch. I follow up with a coat of wax. I suggest you wear gloves when using it. It is oily. When you tear off a section of the wadding cloth just use a small piece. A little goes a long way.
