mother's clay bar help
i followed the instructions with the lube and everything and it took me about an hour to do one groove, i've been away at college and cleaning my car during the year hasn't been my priority but an entire hour to do one grove when there's about 12 on each rim, is there anything else i can do to remove this ? i use eagle 1 tire cleaner to remove brake dust before and mothers mag wash to get dirt out and polish. short of repainting the rims is there anything else i can do ?
The only way to clean wheel surfaces is as you describe (brake dust remover and then clay)
You cannot apply paint over the imbeddded dirt on the wheels (paint won't adhere to a dirty surface)
The good news:
When you put in all that hard work to get the wheels looking 'like new' apply a polymer sealant , this will provide a 'sheild' against dirt, road grime and brake dust adhereing to the surface and make cleaning as easy as hosing off the dirt with water.
