does Maaco do a good job?

my friend wants to paint his A4, he's already decided he's going to drive it into the ground, (and with audi reliability that shoudln't be too long.)

but he wants it painted (it needs it.)

we;ve heard mixed reviews of maaco, anybody had thier car done there and can give me some feedback?

it's so cheap u think it has to be bad, but some guys say they do a good job, does it depend on the shop u go to?

thanks guys

My mom had her 89 300E repainted there last summer because she also is driving it till it dies. I thought it was a very ***** job and just proved to me that for a paint job...you really do get what you pay for. Overspray everywhere and the color they matched perfect, not so perfect. Both my pops and i expressed our feelings on the color when we saw it but all he had to say was that it was matched to when it was new. Like we dont know what it looked like new. He was full of . I wouldnt put a lot of money into a paint job for a car like my moms but it really was a crap job.

In the market
Maaco is a franchise. They are all owned by different people and are under different management. Some of them are going to do absolutely excellent work, and some are going to be substandard. You'll have to handle Maaco on a shop by shop basis. Good luck!

From what I hear, most ALL Maaco paint jobs are CRAP! I had a friend who got his Mustang done there. It was horrible when it went in and it came out looking really good. THen six months later, it looked like it did BEFORE the paint job.

The decision is simple, are you going to be satisfied with a "12 foot" paint job or a "1 foot" paint job? The higher number is cheaper since it's pretty easy to make a car look decent from 12 feet away.
