This is posted on another forum, but I like this one better 
I picked up an SL550 roadster on Memorial Day. It looked good, but all horizontal surfaces were VERY rough. So out comes clay bar

Cleaned up a bit
Looks pretty good, right... not so fast. Under LED lights the scratches are very visible
Didn't think my PC buffer would be enough, but it's what I got.
Hood, cut only, no wax or glaze
Whew, that was a lotta work. Calling it done for now. Had just enough time to get 2 pix before rain
Final thoughts: eliminated some scratches, needs a rotary to be perfect. Still, car looks better

The Chromite Black Metallic is gorgeous. I would rate it 9/10 right now (not bad for an 11 year old car). Believe I can get it to 9.5/10 with a rotary. But gonna roll with it as is til Labor day
