Material in new 320 cdi

My father just recieved his E-320 CDI. I was cleaning it up for him the other day and I noticed the material behind the back seat, and the door post ( the post between the front and back seat) and some of this material is on the bottom of the doors. I was wondering exactly what this material is. It is hard but has a fuzzy feel to it. Looks like it would be a nightmare to clean if it got dirty. Was Looking for something that I could put on the stuff as a protectant and what to use if I needed to clean it. Contacted the rep for 303 and he said he needed to know exactly what this material is. All I could tell him is I did not think it was a a vinyl it just felt fuzzy to me. Hoping someone might know what this is.
Thanks in advance
John

~ One man’s opinion / observations ~

You might try a fabric guard type product (303 High Tech Fabric Guard) With all cleaning products, always test a small, indiscrete area first to ensure it won't discolour or stain the surface, and ensure that the pH of the product is suitable for the material.

~Hope this helps~
